like to see the use of the thames river like
Melbourne did for the Commonwealth games
as well as using the stadium, the flame must travel
down the river? ;)

I'd love to see beowulf, camelot, shakesapeare, etc.! they could do some really cool things. They could also do a lot with british music from Gustav holst and Handel to the Beatles/Rolling Stones! They have so much to work with. The idea of holding the ceremony across all of england is cool too. maybe they could fly planes and make them do cool things like carry banners.

The opening ceremony is about pride, pride in our acheivements etc. Are economy is crumbling, music and culture in this country has died as the latest generation of yobos couldn't give a damn, we ain't doing anything for the environment, 200 years of rape, pillaging and conquest have cost us the moral high ground and frankly the england football team would do better if we strangled them all and stacked them up in front of the goal posts. So what is there left, what is the true meaning of being british, the common denominator no-matter what the ethnicity, background or religion. Is comedy the single greatest symbol of british brilliance: Black adder, Faulty towers, Dads Army, Little britain, Monty python, Mr Bean, The Full Monty. We have comedic genius, something no drum banging flag waving people from china could produce even with their infinite buget. So I say scrap the fireworks and have legends like rowan atkinson, john cleese and david williams teach the world a lesson.

We have to have the band of the Royal Air force. It is British and is very important both to recognise them and to be proud of them :)
